Introducing ESG Home-Brew: Curated MTG Packs, Built for Play

At Empire State Gaming, we like things simple, honest, and fun. Home-Brew is our answer to “mystery” products—curated Magic: The Gathering packs assembled by us, with clear rules and zero hype tricks. Every pack is meant to be opened, played with, and enjoyed.

What is Home-Brew?

Home-Brew is a 12-card curated pack built from years of Magic releases. Each pack follows a consistent composition so you always know the baseline:

• 12 cards per pack

• Minimum 1 Rare and 3 Uncommons

• Remaining cards are Uncommon or basic land

• Some packs include a bonus chase (an extra +1 card)

Contents vary. We don’t publish odds, floors, or values—because your experience shouldn’t hinge on a spreadsheet. These are curated packs, not gambling products.

Why We Built It

We stream, we shop, and we collect. We’ve seen how “surprise” can drift into noise and disappointment. Home-Brew flips that script:

• Transparency first: Clear composition rules. No EV talk. No value guarantees.

• Curated for play: Lists are built to spark ideas—Commander brews, upgrades, and casual kitchen-table fun.

• Trustworthy sourcing: Cards come from factory-sealed product or the secondary market and are repacked by ESG.
  

Waves: Fresh Drops, Clear Notes

Home-Brew releases in waves (HB-W01, HB-W02, …). Each wave rotates the card pool and vibe while keeping the same pack rules. On drop day, we publish a short wave note:

• A few representative examples (not guarantees)

• General set/era mix (e.g., Standard-era, Masters-era, specialty)

• Pack date and lot code for tracking

• Reminder that examples shown; contents vary and no odds are stated

This gives you context without spoilers—and it keeps us accountable for what we’re curating.

Every pack includes a QR code on the back label that links to our Verify & Rules page:

• Enter your lot/serial to see the wave, pack date, and composition

• Read the current wave note

• Review the permanent rules (composition, sourcing, age/safety)

Themes (Sometimes), Rainbow (Sometimes), Always Playable

You’ll notice patterns—mono-color, two-color, three-color, or “rainbow.” We don’t promise themes in every pack, but we do aim for cohesion. The point is to hand you a little engine for deck ideas, not a pile of leftovers.

How We Handle “Chase”

We keep “chase” as a bonus—a +1 card added to some packs. That’s it. No tiers, no odds. You might hit a neat single or a premium variant, but the baseline pack still holds up on its own. If you get a chase, you’ll know—there will simply be one extra card in your pack.

Packaging & Labels

• Front: ESG branding and “Curated Pack — 12 Cards”

• Back: UPC, QR to Verify, lot code, and a short note about composition/sourcing

• Age/Safety: Ages 13+. Small parts.

• Trademarks: All trademarks and logos belong to their owners. ESG is not affiliated with any publisher.
  

How It Fits Into ESG

Home-Brew complements everything we do—live shows, sealed product, singles, and community events. It’s another way to engage with the hobby that feels fair and fresh. Open it on stream with us, save it for a mail day, or use it to kickstart your next deck. Your call.

What Home-Brew Is Not

• Not a lottery, not a “prize wheel,” not a floor/ceiling promise

• Not a guarantee of specific sets or singles

• Not a replacement for official sealed product (we love those too)

It’s curated cardboard with purpose.
